Meet Mary Beth Evans
Mary Beth Evans is the Owner of Calmr Dog Toys and Method, where neuroscience meets canine behavior. A trained Occupational Therapist specializing in neuro-remediation and sensory integration, Mary Beth spent years helping autistic students regulate their nervous systems for improved focus, calm, and function.
In 2016, she had a breakthrough realization: the same sensory principles that help humans organize their nervous systems could also help dogs manage overstimulation, impulsivity, and anxiety. This insight led to the creation of Calmr Dog, a line of thoughtfully designed toys that safely provide the weight, texture, and flexibility dogs need to regulate their sensory systems.
Mary Beth’s approach challenges conventional thinking about dog behavior. Rather than “draining energy,” she emphasizes feeding the nervous system—helping dogs achieve calm through proper sensory input that activates their movement and muscle senses.
Her mission is to help dog owners meet their pets’ foundational needs, so they can be calm, confident, and connected — without resorting to harsh methods or added stress. Through Calmr Dog, she’s redefining the way we understand canine behavior — one regulated nervous system at a time.
